About Us

The Middle Child is a proudly independent wholesale bakery based in Dublin, with our production kitchen on Shantalla Road in Beaumont. Founded by Shona in 2020, we began as a wholesale operation supplying bold, high-quality bakes to cafés and shops - and today, you’ll find us stocked in over 80 locations across Ireland.

In December 2023, we opened the doors to our first retail store, built around a simple goal: to create a warm, welcoming community space grounded in great cakes and great coffee. We proudly serve Roasted Brown coffee, carefully brewed to complement the bakes we’re known for.

Our bakery is powered by a strong, predominantly female team of skilled bakers and baristas who bring craft, care, and creativity to everything we make. At the heart of it all we believe that great things happen when passion meets precision (and butter)!
